Capturing moments in life is something that I am addicted to doing! I have always been interested in preserving memories and photography has been a perfect way for me to achieve this.

I love honest, heartfelt images that give you a glimpse into the subjects life. I love to capture images that let the subjects inner spirit shine through. Any kind of connection brings me joy. I often sit at my computer editing a session with a smile across my face for hours on end! I gain so much from others and truly appreciate these people for entrusting me with their memories.

So, please enjoy my blog where you will see samples of my latest work and get to know me a little better.

Calgary family photographer… I love this family…

When thinking of locations, I always ask the client if they have anywhere that has special meaning to them. As we thought about it, I asked if we might be able to get onto the property where the wife had grown up. It’s only about 5 minutes from where they are now so we decided to take a peak. I remember when we were younger this property seemed like it was way out of town. Now of course it’s surrounding by houses & schools.

As we helped ourselves to a tour of the old yard, we were able to find many items  still remaining from her childhood. The neatest find of all though led back to when they first started dating. You see, the husband  would go over to try and win the families approval by offering to mow their lawn. Not a small task since the property was quite large but hey, when you’re in love you’ll do just about anything. So, he’d hop on the ride-on mower and get to work. Sure enough, there was that old ride-on mower. Just sitting there. So, of course we got a few shots of that.

We also found the old fence, fire pit, and folded chairs that they used to use. Not to mention the door that he would walk her to every night at the end of their date where they would say goodnight! It was a fun little walk down memory lane.

Now, here they are… 15 years and 5 kids later. They were so much fun to photograph! Thanks to all of your for being so much fun and SOO brave in the freezing cold.

fight night! calgary event photographer

Did you know that we have  the #1 ranked Canadian lightweight boxer living right here in Calgary? Well, we do! His name is Steve Claggett and I was lucky enough to take pictures of him and his fellow fighters last week.

Coming up on March 6, 7:00pm at the Bowness Sports Complex these guys and girls will take to the ring and get their fight on! With both amateur and professional boxers it should make for a really exciting night! Their advertising is almost ready to go out and I will definitely put a link to their page when it’s up. Tickets are affordable so you should go out and support a fun local cause :)

Let’s be honest - it’s not too hard to look at any of these fighters and I hear rumours of pin up style ring girls… so there, are you tempted yet?

I am SO sad that I’ll be out of town that weekend. I would have loved to have gotten some actions shots.

Good luck fighters!

The first series are of our Canadian champ- Steve Claggett.

calgary maternity photographer… neon graveyard in vegas!

When we knew we’d be in Vegas my sister and I decided that we should do her maternity session.

I originally thought we should hit the strip and do something cool there, but then we decided that it would be super fun to go to the neon museum and do something there. That is where all of the old signs from Vegas go to retire.

They get about 10 or so professional sessions booked there each week, but this was the first maternity session they have had shot there.

It is a pretty popular spot. The killers filmed one of their videos there and it’s been in movies etc… If you’ve ever in Vegas you may want to check it out. They are closed to the public right now as they prepare to open their brand new museum. Should be pretty neat!

Here is my beautiful sister in law and my handsome big brother!

001_24001_46001_36001_118We had to put this one in there! Everyone keeps telling her that she hit the “jackpot” because after trying for several years to have another child, she is pregnant with a BOY & a GIRL! That is what we call the MEGA jackpot or… the chicken dinner ;) This picture sums it all up.

001_138001_144Let’s talk about what a hottie she is here. WOW. We especially loved the shirt on the right that says LOVE yourself. Many ladies don’t feel their prettiest while they are pregnant but it is so important to always remember to love yourself. I am so proud of her and her great attitude! And Kelly, I love you too.webweb2
