When thinking of locations, I always ask the client if they have anywhere that has special meaning to them. As we thought about it, I asked if we might be able to get onto the property where the wife had grown up. It’s only about 5 minutes from where they are now so we decided to take a peek. I remember when we were younger this property seemed like it was way out of town. Now of course it’s surrounded by houses & schools.
As we helped ourselves to a tour of the old yard, we were able to find many items still remaining from her childhood. The neatest find of all though led back to when they first started dating. You see, the husband would go over to try and win the families approval by offering to mow their lawn. Not a small task since the property was quite large but hey, when you’re in love you’ll do just about anything. So, he’d hop on the ride-on mower and get to work. Sure enough, there was that old ride-on mower. Just sitting there. So, of course we got a few shots of that.
We also found the old fence, fire pit, and folded chairs that they used to use. Not to mention the door that he would walk her to every night at the end of their date where they would say goodnight! It was a fun little walk down memory lane.
Now, here they are… 15 years and 5 kids later. They were so much fun to photograph! Thanks to all of your for being so much fun and SOO brave in the freezing cold.

Here is the famous back door where many “goodnights” were said

Every time this little guy sees me he likes to smack me in the bum. I told him that if he was really good for these pictures I’d let him hit me in the bum as hard as he could! That is when I got the middle expression below. So funny!

The bottom right picutre below is what happened when I told the two older brothers to give their little brother a kiss. Can’t you see how much they loved it?!

Good luck getting past this Dad for a date boys…
These girls are WELL protected.
In the words of Mr. T, “I pity the fool” who falls in love with these gorgeous girls.
